Social responsibility and corporate governance is of great importance to JEM. JEM is a full member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), a group dedicated to supporting the rights and well-being of workers in supply chains. JEM is committed to fulfilling the obligations of membership. Thus, we strictly audit relevant partners in the supply chain. The task of these partners include component manufacturing and raw material mining. To align with our sustainable development goals and reassure our customers that they are purchasing from a responsible corporation; JEM has established screening and auditing, partner performance measurements, and a code of conduct to be abided by in order to validate the quality of suppliers and partners.
 

JEM has established a process for selecting partners and ensure they meet sustainable development goals. Each supplier must first pass the new supplier approval process in order to work with JEM. This screening process involves ensuring that suppliers comply with ISO 9001 standards. These are globally recognized standards for quality management systems. Suppliers will then need to undergo an initial audit, including inspections for quality, zero hazardous substances and corporate social responsibility. JEM supervises approved partners through continuous risk management and performance evaluations. Performance evaluation is based on quality, cost, technology, punctuality, service, ethics, environmental protection and sustainability. Through this evaluation, JEM determines whether to continue partnering with the supplier. Suppliers who exceed expectations with outstanding performances are encouraged to receive more resources from JEM. 
 

To address issues of illegal child labor, low wages, social instability, and human rights issues caused by illegal mining; JEM follows the five principles of OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains to investigate suppliers with potential risk and conflict. These five principles include establishing company management systems, identifying and assessing risks in the supply chain, designing and executing countermeasures to identified risks, implementing independent third-party due diligence, and reporting results on supply chain due diligence. 
In order to fully comply the five principles of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, JEM requires all partners to comply with the Responsible Minerals Policy and the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct. The due diligence process includes conducting responsible mineral surveys and conducting a Reasonable Country of Origin Inquiry (RCOI) to validate if minerals are sourced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Suppliers will then need to pass the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) as a screening process for selecting suppliers. After the supplier pass these processes, JEM will convey its requirements with eligible suppliers and formulate an optimization plan. JEM sources 100% of its tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold from qualified smelters and will continue to fulfill this commitment in the future.

As a full member of the RBA , we will continue to follow the RBA Code of Conduct and complete third-party audits.
